I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in visual art, dance, drama, music and film studies. Sound design is another exciting medium for me to use to tell a story.

Since graduating from Ryerson University in 2017, I have established a successful freelance business that has been steadily growing. Within my business, I have been fortunate enough to work with many talented emerging filmmakers.

I have been recognized for my award-winning work in both sound design (Erika) and cinematography (La Danza de la Gracia). Films I have worked on have screened at TIFF (I Am, I Am), (Little Bird) Hot Docs (Goli: A Tale of Threads), and internationally (An Object of Merit), Santa Fe Film Festival (2021).

In 2019 I was chosen as the WIFT-T Deluxe Post-Production Mentee where I completed a three-week mentorship program at Deluxe, Toronto. Upon completion, I was awarded on-stage recognition at the 32nd Annual WIFT-T Crystal Awards.

I am always looking for new and unconventional ways to tell stories. I believe that the smallest details can have the biggest impact.

Alana Raymond.
